Bio

Krista’s dance history includes explorations of diverse styles.  Her passion for dance intensified, however, once she began studying raqs sharqi (belly dance) with Egyptian Sun Productions in 2004. Krista fell in love with the dance and became devoted to studying the intricate music and graceful movements that make raqs sharqi so expressive.  In addition to her core instruction with Egyptian Sun, Krista has taken workshops with other instructors. In 2007 she traveled to New York City to study with the legendary Morocco. She has also taken workshops with other renowned dancers such as Dalia Carella, Rhea, Melina, Latifa, and Zoe Jakes.

Krista has performed at a number of venues throughout the East Coast.  She has performed several times at Rakkasah East, the largest belly dance festival on the East Coast. Other notable venues include the Lafayette Grill (NYC), Artscape (MD), and Shriver Hall (MD).  Krista has also taught beginner belly dance classes at Zoe’s Garden and Red Maple in Baltimore.

Krista’s dance style is a blend of Egyptian, Lebanese, Turkish, and American influences.  She is playful and expressive, and strives to connect with every audience.  Her style continues to evolve as she learns from instructors of raqs sharqi and other types of dance.
